CITY LAWYER gathered that Federal Government agents had contacted the Branch Chairman, Mrs. Cordelia Eke to inform her that the branch had been enrolled as a beneficiary of the welfare scheme. Available information shows that the 50 kiolgramme Thai rice is being sold to members at a subsidized price of N40,000 as against the market price of over N100,000. To foster transparency, a notice obtained by CITY LAWYER indicated that members were to meet certain requirements before being eligible to participate in the scheme.
