* NBA STATEMENT ON THE RESIGNATION OF THE NBA NATIONAL ELECTION APPEALS COMMITTEE* Mary Akanbi 3rd August, 2022 Dear Colleagues, You will recall that in preparation for the elections into the National Executive Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), and the Executive Committee of various NBA Branches, the leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association had constituted the NBA Election Appeal Committees for the NBA National Election and various NBA Branch elections. The elections into the National offices of the NBA held on Saturday, 16th July 2022, returned winners to the various National offices. However, after the national election, there were some protests against the membership of the Appeals committee bordering on allegations of possible partiality, which led to the resignation of all members of the Appeals Committee on moral grounds and in order to pave the way for the constitution of a new committee that would enjoy the confidence of any petitioner.
