APC Binani Declared Winner Of Adamawa Governorship Election Mary Akanbi 16th April, 2023 The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Sunday morning declared Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani the winner of the Adamawa governorship election. Having been declared initially by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Barrister Hudu Yunusa, Binani would go down in history as the first elected female governor in Nigeria. Binani is a 51-year-old politician born on 11 August 1971. Binani was declared winner of the APC Adamawa governorship primary after polling 430 votes to defeat her closest contestant, Nuhu Ribadu, the pioneer Executive Chairman of Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), who got 288 votes.
