Henry Barnabas Ehi Esq, a legal practitioner who have joined many other lawyers across the Country to condemn the killing of Mrs Bolanle has called on the Inspector General of Police to Compensate the family of the Victim with the Sum of Three Billion Naira. The message reads this;

.               Alkali Baba Usman
“The rationale for the payment of compensation to victims of crime is very simple, It will help to deter other police officers from involving in crimes such as this. The Nigeria Police is vicariously liable to it men, and as such must take responsibility for its action.

Securing a conviction against the alleged shooter Drambi Vandi who killed an innocent lawyer is not enough, the Nigeria Police must also compensate the family of the victim, and I make bold to say the sum of Three Billion Naria should be paid to the family!!

Although, money is not a replacement for life, but this would help the family of the deceased to build a foundation or trust so they can remember the late Bolanle.

Security forces should be made to pay compensation for  any act or omissions by its personnel(s).

I strongly advice the Inspector General of Police to implement the compensation of victims’ family, in such a way that, whenever any of its officer carryout acts or omission bordering on fundamental human rights of Citizens or any case that results in payment of damages, the entitlements and benefits of the said officers  should be withheld, and use to pay for such compensation.

However my request for 3 billion for Mrs. Bolanle’s family is clear!!! Until her death she was a Lawyer who was thriving in the property business; she was also pregnant with twins! This is indeed sad!!!”
