It is with deep regret and mixed emotions that I join Lawyers across the Country in condemning the gruesome killing of Mrs. Omobolanle Raheem, a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Lagos Branch, who was shot dead on Christmas day by a trigger happy Policeman at Ajah Under Bridge checkpoint.

During my undergraduate days as a law student, my final year thesis was focused on such Extra-Judicial Killings by officers of the Nigerian Security Forces in our country.
The killing of Mrs. Bolanle who was reported pregnant after waiting for 7 years is indeed inhumane and painful.


I have so much faith and believe that the leadership of the NBA in it’s usually fashion would follow this matter to it’s logical end to ensure that Justice served.

I also pray that the Lord Almighty grant the family and loved ones of the deceased the fortitude to bear this loss.
