BARR. MAXWELL OPARA'S PROFILE.
Barr. Maxwell Opara, is a distinguished Barrister at Law (with specialization in Human Right Advocacy & Litigation).
He studied Law at Enugu State University where he obtained his LL.B and proceeded to Nigeria Law School where he obtained his B.L.
After his NYSC, he enrolled and obtained his Masters at Law from University of Abuja. He is presently running his Ph.D Programme at University of Abuja.
During his under-graduate days, he was the Attorney General of the Student Union Government and as well as the Pioneer Coordinator Committee for the Defence of Human Right (CDHR) in South East.
Barr. Maxwell Opara is a NOTARY PUBLIC, A PROFESSIONAL CHARTERD MEDIATOR & CONCILLIATOR and A PROFESSIONAL CHARTERD FORENSIC & INVESTIGATIVE AUDITOR and UK Trained Chartered Arbitrator. He is the founder & Principle Partner Maxwell Opara & Associates (Chibunna Chambers), a firm that has championed numerous indigent human rights cases on pro bono. The law firm presently has in its employ, 16 lawyers and 3 admin staff overseeing its operations. In his quest to spread the dragnet of assisting the masses whose ox are normally gored by the authorities, he established and Founded a Human Right- Non Governmental Organization known as (INITIATIVE AGAINST HUMAN RIGHT ABUSE & TORTURE “INAHURAT”). He has used the Human Right Organization to assuage the feelings of the oppressed and the less privilege in the society.
Barr. Maxwell Opara was made the Alternate Chairman Nigeria Bar Association Human Right Committee between 2010- 2012 based on altruistic disposition to Bar activities.
His outstanding performance in the Human Right Litigation earned him a lot of merit award of excellence which include:
1. Best Human Right Lawyer by Nigeria Bar Association (Unity Bar) in 2012 Presented by Hon. Justice C.C.NWEZE of Supreme Court of Nigeria.
2. Best Human Right Lawyer by Federal Radio Cooperation of Nigeria (FRCN) Presented by Director General of FRCN 2012.
3. Best Human Right Lawyer by Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Presented by the then CAN President.
4. Best Human Right Lawyer by IGBO STUDENTS ASSOCIATION (UNI-ABUJA CHAPTER).
4. Best Human Right Lawyer by CATHOLIC WOMEN ASSOCIATION, ABUJA ACH-DIOCESES Presented by His Eminence Cardinal John Onayikan.
All these awards were presented to Barr. Maxwell Opara due to his outstanding performance in offering several free legal services and prosecuting human right cases to LEAN ON ME Family Programme on Radio Nigeria, BREKETE Family Human Right Programme, WAZOBIA FM HUMAN RIGHT PROGRAMME, HOT FM HUMAN RIGHT PROGRAMME, AIT and to other Human Right Organization which many indigent persons actually benefited from the foregoing Programmes.
Barr. Maxwell Opara is a consummate and Noble Family Man who is happily married to our colleague Barr. (Mrs.) Nnenna Maxwell Opara. Together they have built a model family of four wonderful children. He is a devoted Christian, a church planter and a soul winner.
He is the Chairman of Board of Directors of HOMELAND HOTELS LTD, the Chairman Board of Directors Bemax International School, Chairman Board of Directors Maxnnoparas Farm Ltd.
All his foresight and achievements are resolutely premised on God, on whom he depends on for all his remarkable capacities that he has devoted to the upliftment of mankind. To God Be The Glory!!!
