Former CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele Refunds 4 Trillion Naira To The Federal Government  Mary Akanbi 28th December, 2023 The Former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has reportedly refunded a whopping N4 trillion to the coffers of the Federal Government stolen while he was the at the helm of affairs of the apex bank. According to a source close to the investigators, besides reportedly returning N4 trillion, Emefiele also allegedly gave up ownership of six banks linked to him. In a related development, the source revealed that a former CBN Deputy Governor, Tunde Lemo, also reportedly refunded $500 million embezzled taxpayers’ money. The most shocking of all, however, was the discovery of $275 million in the bank account of a six year old son of Sabiu Yusuf, a.k.a Tunde, a Personal Assistant to former President Muhammadu Buhari. A TRIBUTE TO HIS EXCELLENCY, ARAKUNRIN OLUWAROTIMI ODUNAYO  AKEREDOLU, CON, SAN, BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE NIGERIAN BAR  ASSOCIATION, MR YAKUBU CHONOKO MAIKYAU, OON, SAN Mary Akanbi 27th December, 2023 It is with a heavy heart that I pay tribute to His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, CON, SAN (Aketi), the Executive Governor of Ondo State and Past President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), whose transition took place on 27 December 2023 after  a protracted ill-health.  His Excellency was called to the Bar in 1978 and had served the NBA in several capacities.  He variously served as Secretary and Vice Chair of Ibadan Branch and went on to become the  24th President of the Association from 2008 to 2010 – one of the most influential and courageous Presidents ever to lead the NBA. Breaking News: Governor Rotimi Akeredolu Is Dead Mary Akanbi 27th December, 2023 Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, is dead after a prolonged battle with leukemia. A reliable source said that 67-year-old Akeredolu died after being managed by State House doctors in Lagos. Governor Akeredolu has battled health issues since June 2022 when he first travelled overseas for medical care. Although he returned in September, he remained Last month on December 13, Akeredolu proceeded on another medical leave – temporarily handing power to his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
