Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, is dead after a prolonged battle with leukemia.



A reliable source said that 67-year-old Akeredolu died after being managed by State House doctors in Lagos.

Governor Akeredolu has battled health issues since June 2022 when he first travelled overseas for medical care. Although he returned in September, he remained

Last month on December 13, Akeredolu proceeded on another medical leave – temporarily handing power to his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The Ondo First Lady, Betty Akeredolu, had announced the suspension of events planned for her 70th birthday celebration in July, citing “unforeseen circumstances beyond my control.”

There has been no official confirmation of Governor Akeredolu’s reported demise from the state government yet.
