The Regrettable Enthronement Of A “Guyman” Monarch, The Current Emir Of Lafiagi, Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu Whose Unmitigated Style Of Leadership Has Unprecedentedly Set Zambufu And The Entire Kingdom On Fire

Thus, the people of Zambufu had known peace, prior to the recent enthronement of the 14th Emir of Lafiagi, Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu an accidental, “white colour”, unmitigated banker who cunningly ascended the emirate throne for material and egocentric reasons.
As a banker, Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu made no indelible mark throughout his career in the banking industry which he recklessly abandoned for the elated position of the Head of the Emirate Council of Lafiagi obviously not meant for children or rather men of his cada. Barely few months of his reign as the Emir of Lafiagi, he has proved the adage which says that whenever a big gift is given to a child he will always ask who the gift is meant for. Therefore, His Royal Highness, so many Zambufuans unanimously want to know if the Crown is truly meant for you.

However, it is pertinent to at this juncture take all and sundry down memory lane to unveil the factual original background of both the Zambufu and Lafiagi people whose relationship with each other has always been that of good neighbours from time immemorial. It is a known fact that both the Zambufu and Lafiagi people have maintained different or respective autonomous status and simultaneously treated each other with mutual respect throughout the reign of the retinue of Emirs who reigned before the enthronement of the current Emir of Lafiagi, Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu who has showcased himself in such a way that the average reasonable men of Zambufu with balls swigging in-between their legs keep wondering if this accidental Royal father truly sucked the breast of  his mother. This convincingly takes us to another adage which says whenever you talk about sweet, talk about children and whenever you talk about kolanut, talk about men.

Again, it is an undisputable fact that the Zambufu people were the early settlers in the domain hence they settled in 1730. On the other hand, the Lafiagi people settled next to Zambufu people in 1810. Because the Zambufu people are known for their hospitality and receptiveness, they accepted the Lafiagi people as brothers and neighbours. In its community status, Zambufu is made up of over 30 Villages dwelling in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State. It is ironical to note that rather than unprofitably claiming to be overlords to the Lafiagi people by early settlement the recently enthroned Emir, Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu has in his show of shame irrationally made a plethora of imbecilic decisions capable of setting the entire kingdom on fire.
Furthermore, Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu recently embarked on the suicidal voyage of serial balkanization of the homesteads of Zambufu community, appointing Chiefs to oversee the Zambufu area: a community that enjoys its autonomous status; an action that best describes the Emir as one suffering from power intoxication or drunkenness thereby stripping the people of Lafiagi of all democratic principles through the laughable foisting of alien Chiefs on them. As if he was not done with pariah measures and divisive tendencies, he went ahead and handed down an order precluding the Zambufuans from setting foot into their land situate in the surrounding villages with emphasis on the embargo on Bishewa, Gide Conta, Gamelegi and others.

It is therefore with sullen heart I vehemently state that a plethora of obnoxious, partial, irritating, unwise decisions of this “guyman” royal father abound throughout the nooks and canines of not only Lafiagi, his domain but maliciously and egocentrically extended to Zambufu, another firmly standing autonomous community headed and traditionally administered upon by my humble self, His Royal Highness, the paramount Chief of Zambufu community, the Zhitsu of Zambufu, Dr. Mohammed Ndejiko Mohammed. Thus, In his cornman character, the current Emir of Lafiagi keeps goofing in his power drunkenness, acting ultra vires within and across his territorial boarders without conscience. It is therefore in strong terms I and the traditional Councilors, on behalf of the good and peace loving people of Zambufu condemn the scorpion laced leadership style of Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu, the 14th Emir of Lafiagi who arbitrarily levies his poor innocent subjects for selfish aims. He has indirectly and cunningly dispossessed the people of their inheritance in land by ordering that ten seedlings of Oil Palm trees be planted for
him on every subjects land.

Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu heartlessly went further to forcefully impose levies on
the people, compelling the peasant farmers to pay into his personal coffers the sum of (N2,500) Two Thousand and Five Hundred Naira. What a rascally, niggardly cruel royal father supposedly ought to have the interest of his subjects at heart, especially at this moment of scarcity and economic hardship. It is ridiculous to note tkihat the thick-skin he wears concering the peoples’ plight leaves nothing to write home about his character. It is obviously an incontrovertible norm that the exalted royal position of an Emir ordinarily has it incumbent on the chosen one to be the custodian of the  peoples’ tradition. One therefore wonders where this rare prerequisite can be found in Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu, the controversial 14th Emir of Lafiagi.

Nevertheless, the accidental enthronement of this “guyman” royal father and his
arbitral powers can be nipped in the bud through summary dismissal. Like Pharaoh, he has continued to stand in the way of his subjects, brewing violence and fanning
fans of war hence the urgent need for the Department of Chieftaincy Affairs of Edu
Local Government Area of Kwara State to recommend his dethronement in the
interest of equity, peace and fairness. The authorities of Kwara State government
responsible for their recommendation and installation of Chiefs and Emirs be respectfully reminded that such traditional stools are exclusively meant for real full-
fledged men with sound reasoning mind and impeachable character, not for children who know nothing about the culture and custom of their people.

In the light of the above, I herein respectfully submit that dethronement remains the only positive means of returning peace to the already burning Kingdom of ours courtesy of Alh. Mohammed Kudu Kawu.
