NBA SLP 2023 Annual Conference: FCT Courts To Close For The Conference From July 17th - 18th, 2023

During a courtesy visit to the Chief Judge of FCT, Abuja, Hon. Justice Husseini Baba Yusuf, The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Legal Practice (SLP), Chief Ferdinard Orbih KSG, SAN, solicited that my Lord the Chief Judge of FCT should instruct courts within the FCT not to sit during the duration of the Conference. He also informed the CJ that my Lord, is the Chief Host of the conference.

Responding, the CJ accepted to host a welcome Cocktail for SLP Conferees. My Lord the CJ Hon. Justice Husseini Baba Yusuf, bemoaned the declining professionalism among new wigs and urged the NBA to mentor the younger ones to avoid misconducts among members of the Bar and continue to re-educate its members.

He said the Bench has a role to make sure that the court meets the demands of the general public. He said he operates an open door policy to make sure he interacts with lawyers with view to hear from the Bar in areas the Bench need to improve, so as to provide quality Justice to all especially the litigants.

My Lord the CJ of FCT further ruled and ordered that there won’t be Court sitting in the FCT from July 17-18.  All Judges of the FCT are invited to attend the Conference.
My Lord further stated that he will attend the opening ceremony with his full office.

NBA-SLP Annual Conference is billed to take place between 16th - 19th July, 2023 in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
